Pocket Magik’s interview in Juice Magazine, Singapore

Friday, 16 Sep 2011

The Pocket Magik is a fairly new collaborative effort between Melvin (Betaphats) and Kurt (Clash the Disco Kids) from Singapore. Being the recent talk of the town, their self-produced tunes are regarded as soulful, timeless and genre-less.

Here’s what Case Woo (one of Singapore’s biggest music producer) has got to say about their new album:

“Finally Singapore has hope and a future and it came in the form of a collaboration between two young duos. Kurt and Melvin, I salute you wholeheartedly. This is what I have been waiting for. Everyone should own a copy of this album because it is unpretentious and soulful, it has beautiful melodies and yet it is deep. I actually stopped whatever I was doing and sat up to listen carefully. This is good shit I tell you and I am impressed beyond words. There is no such thing as local or not local, there is only artistry.”

Pickup a copy of the latest issue Juice magazine (Singapore) to find out more about the duo in their interview. Also, don’t forget to check out their music on Pocket Magic’s Soundcloud.
